I don’t know about your part of the world, but here in my part of the world, roadside dumping happens in waves.
Old CRT television sets were a very fashionable addition to the nature strip ten years ago. Since then we’ve had flatscreens, old computer towers, even chests of drawers.
Mattresses are another category altogether. Seems that mattress season runs all year round, any year you pick.
The current trend in abandoned items is office chairs.
Okay, that last one isn’t an office chair. But it does have its own coffee table.
The mind is an unexplored country. 
That’s enough office chairs for hoboes to have a board meeting.

The chairs don’t stay for long. Maybe the meeting is happening in some quiet riverside nook.

Even a hundred years ago, most of what we owned and used would be consumed by nature if we dumped it in a field. Our mental evolution needs a kick along in that department.
