Lockdownunder update: Dics will be dics.

Covvie took a wrinkled little nonentity and turned it into a big bullying bogey.

Lifted from the comments at The Daily Sceptic, this affectionate word picture was aimed at Mark Drakeford, First Minister of Wales. It could apply to a multitude of other covidiots, of course – among them Victoristan’s Danfuhrer and Masky Mark McClown, High Pontiff of The Western Lands.

Masky threw a brickbat at Dan during the week over funding for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Dan, having a hide of the sheerest gossamer, fired back. But the Games were just the pretext. Although they operate at state level, Masky had a very good federal election last week and Dan did not. According to the Australian, 16 booths out of 20 in Danfuhrer’s electorate indicated a swing against Labor. Several swings were double-digit high.

Sky News: The Victorian Premier said November’s state election will be close, but argued voters knew the difference between federal and state issues.  I told you there’d be some of that!

I just wish I was hearing it on this side of Lockdownunder.

Labor did well here, taking four seats off the Liberals with a ten percent swing. Information on this result has me baffled: according to another reader at Daily Sceptic, their WA friends voted Labor to punish the Liberals for the damage done to the state’s mining industry by Colin Barnett.

Colin Barnett was state premier before Masky and Labor won government in 2017. That’s right – West Australians voted to smack a premier who’s been gone five years.

That’s one of the things that makes this state special. People really know how to nurse a grievance here – they can carry a chip on their shoulder until it grows into a plank.

Any pain Colin Barnett caused has been equaled by the covid regime under McClown, if not surpassed. And when Masky points a finger at Dan, three more point back at him.

Local media were crowing about ‘the  McGowan effect’ last Sunday. God, as if he needs the encouragement!

The luxury of time… That’s something else Masky has over Dan. Three years versus six months to the next state election.

Looking back to Canberra again – I could be wrong (and I probably am) but I anticipate our new federal clownshow going big on ‘climate action’ and lighter on The Dreaded C. Climate action is something that happens elsewhere – apart from solar panels on the roof it’s not immediately visible.

Fauci junk juice is a different matter. Sitting at the dinner table, looking around at your vaccinated family, you’d be wondering by now what you’ve bought into.

  1. Here in NSW we change state leaders so often it’s hard to remember them or what they look like.

    • Brad Hazzard must be hard to forget, though. No matter how hard you try.
