Australians aren’t traditionally known for their oratory. Covid has changed all that.

Nicola Spurrier, South Australia’s Chief Health Officer:
I have noticed occasionally it does get kicked into the crowd. We are working through the details of what that will mean, if you are at Adelaide Oval and the ball comes towards you.

My advice to you is to duck and just do not touch that ball.

Kerry Chant, CHO of New South Wales:
Whilst it’s human nature to engage in conversation with others, to be friendly, unfortunately, this is not the time to do that, even if you run into your next-door neighbor in the shopping center. Don’t start up a conversation. Now is the time for minimizing your interactions with others.

Brett Sutton, Chief Health Officer of Victoria, described the Indian variant of the virus as an absolute beast because it has moved faster than any other strain we’ve dealt with.

Brett may have watched one too many movies…

And these are just the second tier performers. They’re not even the elected officials who make the decisions.

The drama rises with every pronouncement. It’s impossible to say when the decline will begin.

Will you be the one to call for a more reasoned approach, New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard?

My apologies, sir. Please continue hyperventilating.
