When the news strikes close to home. RIP, sir.

One of the victims in yesterdays terrorist attack in Melbourne was Sisto Malaspina, proprietor of Pellegrini’s at the top of Bourke Street.

I spent a lot of time in Pellegrini’s back in the 1980s, and I’ve called in there for coffee and lasagna at least once any time I’ve gone back east. Sisto was always there.

He was the neckerchief king of Melbourne. Like they say in the ad, he never left home without one.

“The happiest person you could imagine.”
