While Australia stops for a horse race, America gets ready to vote.

And of course doomsayers abound. But the doomsaying industry has rather fallen in the public confidence over the last two years.

November 4:
It is obvious that the president of the United States of America is placing a target on my back and he keeps calling my name and lying about me in order to make the target work…All of us who are targeted are simply saying that the president of the United States is taking this country in the wrong direction, that it is dangerous, that it is divisive and he continues to dog whistle to his constituency out there.

But as recently as June this year:
Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.

Which rather begs the question of who is targeting who. Or is it that targeting, like homophobia, is okay when some people do it?

And while we’re on the Kavanaugh affair, I’m nominating this as the funniest meme of 2018.

Since we’re on the racing shtick let’s have a second and a third.
