RIP Jim Keays – another great Australian singer.

Last week we lost Doc Neeson. Today, Jim Keays succumbed to complications of multiple myeloma.

Keays was most prominent with Adelaide band The Master’s Apprentices during the late 1960s and early 1970s but he continued to perform and record until recently. As mentioned here, he appreciated a very broad musical spectrum – all the way from the punk explosion of the 70s to The Wiggles.

It’s Because I Love You was a major hit locally for the band in 1971.
