Boko Haram and celebrity handwringing. UPDATED

Via Andrew Bolt: some savage commentary on the latest “Fuck You, Bad Guys, We Really CARE!” campaign.

One thing I’m fairly sure of about the kind of people who do [human trafficking] for a living, is that they really don’t give a shit about a bunch of American movie stars taking pouty selfies of themselves holding up signs with hash tag give our girls back. The disapproval of fat, soft, Americans on Facebook really doesn’t move them. They care about getting paid or getting killed, that’s about it.

Warning. The article linked above contains graphic images of Actors Looking Serious. Projectile vomiting is the risk you take. Other than that it’s a worthwhile read.

As direct and to the point – hollow point, preferably, I assume –  is one of Bolt’s commenters.

The bad boys of Boko Haram understand only one thing and that comes out of a barrel.

Note: while searching on the net I found two blogs that referenced an article from the Melbourne Age in 2012. That article outlined undercover work done by our SAS in Africa. Principally their purpose seems to have been surveillance, scoping out the landscape in case Australians had to be rescued from BH or their like.

The original article has disappeared or is too deeply buried in the Age’s archives for retreival.

News reports of the last week are saying that the Nigerian government was warned many times that schools were vulnerable targets for abductions. Our people may have been among those sending the warnings (sorry – no they weren’t. The warnings came only a few hours before the abductions.)

Note Update: The article, as posted in The Age’s northern sister the Sydney Morning Herald.

UPDATE 11/05: Lara Prendergast in the UK Spectator notes that the fashionable outrage de jour is – how shall we put it? – gender selective.

Boko Haram – whose name means ‘western education is sinful’ – does not distinguish between the education of  girls and boys. In February, the group attacked another school. After boarding up every exit, its men seized 59 boys and gunned them down or cut their throats with machetes…Where was the selfie protest then?

  1. Mr. Bolt is right on the target, Nigeria has it’s Boko Haram other nations on that continent have various names for their Islamic bastids of course, HERE we have the Boko Barry element.

    • OH, yes those “brave” holding their signs..the Boko’s are frightened shitless.

      • The article mentions Sean Penn punching out his wife. Here’s some detail.
And this guy waves signs at Boko Haram demanding they treat women with respect.
Makes me wonder about the other concerned males in that collection and what they’ve done.

  2. Penn, fehh. Have no idea how tall commie boy is, but I do know a coupla’ things that may make him taller. Tree and rope AND I would be privileged to assist in any way possible.

Ahh yes, the sound of a gurgling lad. ‘Hey Penn, did you know that the big toe on your LEFT foot has a corn?’

    • These are incidents that happened many years ago and maybe Penn is a different person now. I’m doubtful. He’s thrown his fists around a few times since, though he’s restricted himself to photographers and paparazzi most of the time. Young Scarlett was wise to get out early.
(pssst, Scarlett, I’m the same age as Sean and I know NICE ways to use my hands…)

      • Hey Scarlett, I can vouch for this bloke, give him a shout.

Penn? Umm, leopards don’t change their stripes..

        • Thanks for the recommendation… updated too, by the way.

          • No prob on the “rec”, mate.

Read the update, it’s just too damn bad that a nuclear device can’t be used against these vile Islamics in that or any nation.
