The countdown is finally on for real: Australians will vote on September 7.

Get rid of Kevin

The date has been announced: Australia will have a federal election in five weeks.
Kruddfuhrer has surprised me, and many others, who expected him to postpone the poll until after the G20 meeting later in September. But September 7 is right in the middle of the finals season for the major Australian Rules league the AFL; Rudd perhaps thinks he can score a win under the radar, so to speak.
It’s also been reported that other senior figures in the ALP have been pressing him for an early poll. They understand, even if Rudd doesn’t, that the longer he inflicts himself on the Australian voters the more he undermines their chances at the election.

  1. Krudd, must have thoroughly read his brand new book.

Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals, Vintage Books, autographed by Obama and Hillary.

    • Here’s Narcissist Prime in his own words:

      It’s on.
A few moments ago I saw the Governor-General and asked that she dissolve this parliament and call the Federal Election for September 7.
Australians now face a choice. And the choice couldn’t be starker.
I have a positive vision about the country we can be. In this election I’ll be talking with Australians across the county about better schools for our kids, investing so we can create good jobs, and about how the NBN can help keep our economy strong.
Tony Abbott has a different approach. He’ll bang on with the same negativity that we’re all sick of. He’s only got three word slogans because he doesn’t have the ticker to debate his real agenda.
Right now the only thing standing between Australia and an Abbott-led government is you, me, and as many Australians as we can rally to fight for the kind of nation we all want to live in.
We’ve got one hell of a fight on our hands. Abbott and a few millionaires will out-spend us. But if we join together we can even the playing field. Chip in $5 to get us off to a strong start:
It’s time to rally the troops.

PS – I mean what I say: we can win this if we work together. Now’s the time to step up – please make our campaign stronger by donating now.

The PM who helped squander billions is asking the citizens for a handout… and it should be noted that there are a few millionaires on Kevin’s side too. His wife, for example.

  2. Greg

Forgive my ignorance but I remember when Kevin took over the first time. Wasnt he the darling of Australian politics three/four years ago? Or did I speak to the wrong people at the time?

When are you having the next referendum to leave ole Mother England?

On 8/4/13, The mind is an unexplored country.

    • Ike,
Krudd was indeed the darling of the left, and the media (but I repeat myself) for a spell. His apology to the ‘stolen generations’ was the high point of his reign, and that came pretty early. Within a year of his win it was growing more obvious that he was great for the grand announcement, not so good when there was bad news to deliver, and utterly fucking incompetent as a manager.
He was thrown out because he was dragging the government’s popularity to new lows. He was only brought back because Jooolya actually managed to drag them even lower.
As for the next referendum on a republic… I don’t anticipate it soon. It’s not a simple process.
