On days like these… I wish my hair was longer so I could tear it out.

How did you spend your Good Friday?

I had the great idea of doing some computer maintenance, which somehow snowballed into a complete reinstall of the OS. I’d done a full backup so I thought I was well prepared – just one teeny problemo. The backup on the browser’s bookmarks AND PASSWORDS AAARRRRGGHHH! wouldn’t reload.

The bookmarks are no great loss. I’d collected so many that I would have needed a week’s solid browsing to get through them all. The passwords are a different matter. The email account pws I had written down all bounced, all except my Optus account – which is about to get a hell of a lot of traffic as I set up new passwords all over the place.

Getting back into my WP blog drove me to despair. A dozen times at least I tried to create new a pw and as soon as I began to enter it for verification the red panel would light up. MISMATCH. Copy and paste produced exactly the same result! Just leave me here and I’ll bang my head against this wall until the blood flows. It was like my early experience with FB all over again, when they locked me out because I didn’t have a mobile phone number. And, just like FB, WP suddenly decided to play nice.

By then I needed lunch, and some mental distraction. Considering the significance of the day, I selected a very appropriate movie. Good against evil, redemption, sacrifice – no, it wasn’t King of Kings, or even The Last Temptation of Christ. It was slightly more contemporary in its treatment of the subject…

Same old story: I had plans, I was going to get things done.

Still! One down, but three to go.

If I had the energy I’d go out for some tonic water to dilute with a healthy splash of Dewar’s. This is a satisfactory substitute. It gets me feeling melancholy, and I can have as much as I want with no fear of a hangover.

  1. no way, let’s share just a shot of limoncello to enjoy this tune and a taste of sun
    buon giorno there 🙂

    • While your eyes play games with mine?

      • because of your sexy cataract?

        • I’ve never heard it called that before.

          • I like to call it in many ways

            • If there’s a safe answer to that, I can’t think of it.
Except to ask for a list.

            • call it gastritis, call it colitis or ulcer
              zucchina
              tomato
              pepperoni
              you name it
it depends on the whole context
(according to the last 3 options, chop them all, fry them gently in a pan with oil, season, cook pasta, add it to the sauce, toss, eat)

            • That reminds me, I’m hungry and I’ve got no food in the house. Shopping time. Arrivederci!

            • Arrivederci and buon appetito 🙂

  2. Hey, why don’t you two get a room…lol.

    • It does seem a shame to let my sexy cataract go to waste.

  3. LMFAO.

However, I do agree with you.

Uhh, Ms. Mercorillo, don’t know how long you’ve known this Gregoryno6 fellow, but he’s not sane. Umm and I’m In… 🙂

  4. No way would I even consider doing some maintenance on my comps. I’d head straight to the Dewars and watch a movie. Eliminate the stress.

    • It was one of things, you know: 1, 2, 3, done!
I stopped counting when I got to 257.
