Someone should have shouted

The documentary 30th Century Man describes the musical odyssey of Scott Walker over the last fifty years. His albums of the last fifteen years don’t connect with me at all, but I certainly admire him for pushing on beyond what he’d done with The Walker Brothers and his early solo albums. He could have settled back to grow roses and hit the road for the occasional golden oldies tour; instead he’s moved into the region where music crosses into being plain noise. It’s kind of hard to whistle a tune that incorporates the sound of a fist slamming into a hunk of meat.
Such A Small Love was written by Scott and released on his first solo album in 1967.

  1. Hi,
Sorry couldn’t listen to the whole song, he seems to have a nice voice, but not my type of music.

    • It’s wasn’t a lot of people’s type of music, mags. Scott’s four solo albums were deleted within a couple of years. Original vinyl editions would probably be quite valuable collectors items now.
      Hooray for CDs.
PS – I just found a genuine live performance by The Walker Brothers and I’ll post it shortly.
