And that was his WTF moment for the day.

I sprained my right ankle and knee last week. I’ve been careful with the exercise routine, but not careful enough apparently.

It’s getting better now – slowly – but it’s still sore and I’m limping about at work. This afternoon one of the customers noticed and said “What have you done to yourself?”

I shrugged sadly and said, “My ballet career is over.”

Probably not on his list of expected replies.

  1. Hi,
Well said, that would of sent the customer off laughing I’m sure.
Hope all gets healed for you soon, nothing worse than trying to work with an injury.

    • We have the Queen’s Birthday holiday on Monday so I’ve got three days to keep the foot rested. That should help.
I don’t think he was laughing when he left, Mags. Dazed, possibly, even disoriented. He’ll get over it.

  2. Hi,
Dazed, disoriented, where are peoples sense of humor?

    • I had a laugh out in the warehouse while I was getting his goods. I just love that moment of non-response before comprehension strikes like lightning…
He didn’t make a rush for the door when he left so I think he was on his way to recovery.

  3. Sorry to hear about the injury. Rest up over the weekend. Haha. That customer would have been a little worried for a moment. Like you said, he’ll get over it

    • Fasteners, as you well know LC, is a very manly male business. And the leg is improving. The knee has settled down, but the ankle is still complaining. Ah well, the domestic chores were done yesterday so nothing to to for the next two days but sit in front of the computer and pump out new products for the Emporium. Can I interest you in a customised T-shirt?

  4. Brill.

    • I have to admit, I had it waiting… but still. Very satisfying.
